Photosession with Diana | women portraits made by Francis Frionnet Portraits

On September 9, 2017 Francis Frionnet Portraits organised an event: ’Woman Only‘. In respons to this great evening, I booked a photoshoot. In December I went for a pre consultation. On the the few pictures that have been taken of me, I always smile. Now I wanted some different images. Julia Roberts, Audrey Hepburn, Jennifer Lopez, Michelle Pfeiffer … all women who show their power without a huge smile on their faces. I took some photos of them to show Francis what I meant. We talked about this and he gave tips on how I could choose the right clothes for these powerful photos.

A little bouncing ball

On January 12 it was time for my photoshoot. I was in such a hurry to go to the studio, I forgot to bring my clothes. I went back and fortunately I still arrived on time at the studio. Here I was warmly welcomed by Monique. I felt like a little bouncing ball, because I felt very exciting, it was so outside my comfort-zone and full on in the spotlight. But I really wanted to show myself, even though my second nature is ‘being invisible’.

Gala dress

Francis took a picture before going into hair and makeup. Oops, I had not counted on that! Monique was very enthusiastic about the clothes I brought. It felt good to know I made the right choice picking the clothes I did. In the changing room was a beautiful evening dress, which Francis and Monique had bought for future photoshoots and I was the first to wear it … wow!

Natural look

After a cup of coffee, makeup artist Fabienne discussed her ideas about the makeup for my photoshoot. I love a natural look and so she went to work on that; the result was amazingly beautiful. Hairstylist Miranda provided me with a beautiful hairstyle. I immediately felt beautiful. And then it was time for the photoshoot. Francis explained the intention of the first session. It seemed quite tricky to me, but I did exactly what he told me to do and I just went with the flow; I try not to think about it, that would have only made me more insecure.

Nothing is IMPOSSIBLE. The word itself say I'M POSSIBLE.

Pretty cool

Francis took a lot of photos and was super enthusiastic, that helped enormously. I changed clothes after the first session. Then we made some more photos at the table. I grabbed the bowl of strawberries and thought of a relaxing Sunday morning. The images became a bit dreamy and we had a lot of fun. Then I changed for a more business-like session. The posing was getting easier and I felt pretty cool. Ofcourse I became more and more curious about the results, but what Francis showed in between shooting was great! After some Audrey Hepburn-like photos at the blinds it was time for … the evening dress! I suddenly felt like a real princess. Coincidentally I had jewellery that matched the whole look very much. I honored my ‘pet name’: Lady Di! The morning went by very very fast. Never thought I would like this so much. I really, really enjoyed it. We had lunch together; that was wonderful and very relaxed after all the effort we all put into the photoshoot.

Me, me, me… and me!
After a week of waiting (luckily I was busy, so the days flew by) I came back to the studio. There was a very large picture of me on the wall. Well, then you really feel like someone! And what was the photo in the frame beautiful! I looked very much like my father in this picture; I felt so proud. I felt more like his child than ever. We first had a cup of coffee and then I was allowed to reveal my foliobox. So many different ‘little me’s’. I was quite overwhelmed by the result! I managed to choose my favourites, although I would have loved to buy them all. It was great to be able to take the photos and the folio box with me that same afternoon. Now I have viewed them myself and showed them to others several times. I really see myself and I am very, very proud of it!
